Indian Men got back to winning ways by scoring a 2.5-1.5 victory against Vietnam in Round 7 of 19th Asian Games 2022. GM Arjun Erigaisi scored the crucial win of the match against GM Minh Tran Tuan (VIE). GM D Gukesh was the only other Indian who got a decisive advantage. However, he had a difficult time converting it into a win. His opponent, GM Liem Quang Le (VIE) escaped with a draw. GM Harika Dronavalli delivered the equalizer against WGM Meruert Kamalidenova (KAZ). IM Vaishali R lost her game against GM Zhansaya Abdumalik (KAZ). GM Koneru Humpy and IM Vantika Agrawal drew their respective games. Thus, Kazakhstan-India ended in a 2-2 draw. Indian Men will face Republic of Korea and Indian Women will face Hong Kong, China in the penultimate round.
